Karl Heller, Chairperson, Co-Founder of Little Blue Heroes Foundation. Following Karl’s career in An Garda Síochána, he is proud to have served the community in Dublin, Meath, Monaghan, and in more recent times as Chief Superintendent at the Garda Bureau of Community Engagement. He retired in Sept., 2017.Karl is the Chairperson, in a voluntary capacity, at the Little Blue Heroes Foundation. His experience in child welfare and protection are reinforced by his academic study in these fields. His experience and knowledge of this area played a significant role in becoming nominated and serving as a member of the original working group who developed the ‘Children First’ child protection guidelines for Ireland.

Alan Keane, Secretary, Founder of Little Blue Heroes Foundation. Alan is currently a serving Sergeant of An Garda Síochána attached to the Garda National Community Policing Unit at Garda Headquarters and has over 20 years experience in policing. Alan has qualifications in Community Policing, Crime Prevention, Project Management, Desktop Publishing and Computer Applications. He has extensive knowledge in community policing practices and has represented An Garda Síochána at international level including CEPOL., EUCPN, EDPOL & RANPOL.

Alan Roughneen, Treasurer, Co-Founder of Little Blue Heroes Foundation. Alan is currently an Inspector of An Garda Síochána attached to Meath Garda Division supporting Community Policing. He was previously attached to the Garda National Protective Services Bureau and the Garda National Crime Prevention Unit. He has extensive experience in Garda Media (TV and Radio) and Public Relations. His Police Training specialist is in psychology based fields (Emotional Intelligence, Stress-Management, Diversity, Learning Styles, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, etc). He is qualified in personal & executive coaching and is a former Aircraft Engineer specialising in Electrics and Avionics.

John O’Hara, Trustee, Co-Founder of Little Blue Heroes Foundation. John is a serving Clerical Officer for the past 20 years and is currently at the Garda National Community Policing Unit. John has extensive knowledge in Community Policing and holds a master’s degree in Policing, Diversity and Human Rights. John is also a qualified teacher in English Language Studies and is a qualified national tour guide in Ireland.

Suadd Elmonem, Trustee of Little Blue Heroes Foundation. Suadd is currently an Assistant Principal in An Garda Síochána in the DMR West Garda Division and has experience in the area of governance, HR and project management. Suadd forms part of our fundraising and events committee for Little Blue Heroes.

Pat Harrington, Trustee of Little Blue Heroes Foundation. Pat is a serving member in An Garda Síochána with over 2o years experience the majority being a Dog Handler with the Southern Region Dog Unit.. Pat has great experience in volunteering for children’s charities and is our southern representative for Little Blue Heroes and their families. Pat can relate to families going through difficult situations as he has been there himself when his son Conor was battling cancer. Sadly Conor died of cancer just 12 days after his tenth birthday, on October 28, 2016.

Brian O’Donnell, Trustee of Little Blue Heroes Foundation. Brian is a serving member of An Garda Síochána with over 25 years experience in rural and urban community policing at Galway Garda Division. Brian is a fluent Irish speaker and has experience in press and media communications through the Irish Language. Brian is also our family liaison and charity representative for the Galway area.

Annmarie Larkin Brady, Trustee of Little Blue Heroes Foundation. Annmarie is a serving member of An Garda Síochána with over 20 years experience in policing and supporting communities in the Cavan & Monaghan Garda Division. Annmarie is our family liaison and charity representative for the Cavan/Monaghan/Louth area. She has vast experience in running community events and family support.

Jordan Power (Volunteer) & Jillian Power, Trustee of Little Blue Heroes Foundation. Jordan initially was as a Little Blue Hero and on reaching 18yrs and finishing our programmes he became a mentor and volunteer for the charity while his mother Jillian became a trustee of the charity. Jillian is an important part of the board as she can give representation from a parent’s perspective who has been through our programmes and gives valuable input on the needs of families. Both Jordan & Jillian are also our charity representatives in the Waterford area.

Jackie Cunningham, Volunteer on the Fundraising Committee of Little Blue Heroes Foundation. Jackie is a Clerical Officer at Garda Headquarters, Walter Scott Building who devotes her time as much as she can to the charity. She has vast experience volunteering for charities and has been involved with Special Olympics Ireland since the 2003 World Games in Ireland. Her other interests in life is walking and swimming with her club the Maynooth Stingrays Swimming Club.

Darren Coventry-Howlett, Trustee of Little Blue Heroes Foundation. BA (Hons) MPA MSc LLM CIGI | Assistant Director, Reviews & Examinations (OPR) at the Office of the Planning Regulator| Former Police Sergeant | Certified Inspector General Investigator | 'Safe Haven' Interfaith Hate & Extremism Response Project Lead. Darren forms part of our policy development committee for our charity.

Annmarie Keane, Administration & Family Liaison Officer, Co-Founder of Little Blue Heroes Foundation. Annmarie has over 30 years experience in the health care and charity sector and is our only paid staff member who looks after the day to day administration of the charity. She is the point of contact for families and provides the supports of our charity to families in need. She is palliative care trained and has a Level 5 FETAC in health care.
